The Teacher Inspires
Everyday you encounter many, many people. I would say that in a given day a teacher (general ed elem) communicates with anywhere from 28-100 people. You have your class which consists of 22-28+ kiddos, a couple of colleagues on your team (last team I was on there were 7 of us!), a couple of other teachers on other grade levels, custodians, admins, a couple of parents, and all the other kiddos you encounter in the hallway or at the playground. Whew! That's a lot! I've actually never thought about it that way (did I forget anyone?). Running into so many people, a teacher has to be an expert communicator--with so many different types of communication. You are an expert communicator. I bet you never thought of yourself that way. But you have to. It seems it's part of the job requirement-haha! That can be a little overwhelming but let me tell you-you are exactly where you are for a reason. So believe. Believe you can be that expert communicator. And if it doesn't quite happen the way you want the first time, try again.
I love this little saying. I found it on pinterest via April M . From Seven Thirty Three Blog. Oh ya- and it's FREE (get it HERE).
