Fun Reading Journal Labels- Free!

Labels! Labels! Labels!  It is that time of the year!  Time when all teachers organize, organize, and organize some more.  Thinking about how can we make the classroom run more smoothly THIS YEAR?  During the first week of school, it seems like everyone is labeling something.  So, I thought I would make some fun labels for your student's reading journals.  What I have done in the past is have the kids write their own names on the journals..take ownership, and then I have them add their labels.  I pass out the labels and they add them to their journals.  I've always called my journals 'Reading Response Journal' but you might call them simply 'Reading Journal'.  So, I've included both of these labels in this packet.

You can print them out on Avery 5263, which is 2x4.  I like my labels big because I can write on these better too.....just in case for monitoring notes or something (although I don't really take notes like that anymore--which you can read about here).  If a parent ever asks what I need, I usually say sticky notes and labels (and chart paper markers :).
