Teacher Week 2012 Where in the world?

Where in the world is Matt Lauer?  I mean...Where in the world is April and where does she teach?

  • I teach in the USA
  • I teach in the great state of Texas
  • I teach in suburbia USA-near the capital of Texas
  • And more specifically, I teach in a playroom, upstairs
  • And sometimes the kitchen
  • And sometimes outside
After 11 years of teaching in the traditional classroom, I had my second baby.  I looooove teaching and the classroom but I knew if I could stay at home while my children were young, even for just a year... maybe 2... I would.  Well, after taking a course from Dave Ramsey, my husband and I were able to make it work.  Not for a long time, we know that...but for now.

So this year, I am teaching a soon to be 4 year old and a 1 year old.

And although it is wonderful...a blessing...my dream!--blogging and creating products has helped.

Helped me stay in tune with teachers, helped my creative side, helped me become a better wife/mommy, and helped my family a little- financially.

I know there is a lot of pressure out there for teachers.  I know--I've been teaching long enough.  So, I am here to help.  Just think of me as your assistant.

Here are my kiddos...you won't see much of them because of the big bad cyberwolf  but every once in awhile...I will share.  They are my heart and my biggest littlest learners.

    1. Great advice! My husband and I are going to try to make it work as long as possible. I really can't get this time back with my own children. Thanks so much for commenting! It means the world :) April

  3. Your children are adorable. You are so lucky! I know there are sacrifices, but it will be worth it. I hate to admit it but I think I made the mistake of always putting my students before my children. As they get older, it makes me sad. You are blessed and I hope you will be able to stay home forever.

    1. Thank you! I can see where it would be easy to do that. Kids at school--so many of them don't have the opportunities our own children have. Our hearts go out to them and you know us...we are so passionate about the little lives we work with. I hope to stay at home but we'll see..we gotta eat too -haha (not that I make much :) April
