Last week, I celebrated 6 years of A Modern Teacher! Can you believe that?  6 years!!  I thought I would take a look back at where AMT has been and what I hope for AMT in the future. I also thought it would be fun to have a GIVEAWAY!!!!  YAY! Let’s ring in 2018 with some fun!

One of my favorite quotes is: “If you’re not having fun, you’re not doing it right.” ~John F. Kennedy Jr.

I am ready to bring some fun and favorites to AMT. But first, a quick look back on 6 years. Before I list anything though, I want to share that the best thing about AMT is meeting such awesome people! I’ve made some incredible best friends these past 6 years. I mean, no joke. And who would’ve ever thought??  Not me!  And to be able to help others across state lines (and within!) is a kind of wonderful bonkers to me. Thank you to all of the readers here and all who have supported my little biz. I hope you can use many ideas and resources. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!! I am so grateful!!!

Ok, on with the list…

First year: my logo is navy blue chevron with pink apple, I discover blogging and have no clue what I’m doing, I open a store on Teachers Pay Teachers and still have no clue what I’m doing; I decide to create something I’ve never seen before: a modern teacher lesson planner

Second year: I develop the planner even further and decide to create one in print form, a hard-bound planner teachers can use in both their teacher life and their personal life; collaborations with other teachers (YAY!!!) including a digital e-magazine in collaboration with Melanie from Schoolgirl Style

Third year: AMT continues to grow as a blog, logo changes with a green apple and a gold heart and navy fonts and I begin to write more about organizing in the classroom, sharing how to effectively plan lessons, and differentiation.

Fourth year: The hard-bound planners grow by leaps and bounds. I created a lesson planner and a personal planner in 3 different designs.

Fifth year: Logo changes again…back to the pink apple and colorful font. YAY!!!! Both the print and digital planners continue to grow, blog continues to grow with the addition of brand collaborations with Astrobrights (as one of their Bright Minds Ambassadors) and a contributor for Oriental Trading’s new education blog.

Sixth year: The hard-bound lesson planners take a break, blog continues to grow in collaboration with Astrobrights, as a contributor for Oriental Trading and as a contributor to the Crafting Chicks blog; Melanie, from Schoolgirl Style, and I host a creative workshop for teachers on organization and classroom decor in Waco, Texas.

And in 2018…..

My hope is to have more fun with AMT blog. I’m going to give my very best here. You’ll be seeing more blog posts. Yup! I’m going back to basics. Back to the start. Back to where it all began. I am so stinkin’ excited!!!  I can’t wait to share more! I had a conversation with some teacher friends (and my brother-in-law who is a high school teacher) and some very important insights were shared and I can’t wait to share it with you!  I hope you are just as excited as I am and will stay for the next adventure. Planners? Oh, they’ll be here. Indeed, they will.

Until then, let’s celebrate with a GIVEAWAY!!!!

I’ll be giving-away A Modern Teacher Life Calendars for 2018 (the printed ones) and the digital Lesson Planners and Binders–for ***SIX PEOPLE*** to celebrate SIX YEARS!!!!!  Contest begins tonight at midnight and ends next Sunday night, January 7th!!!
