Teachers label everything. Ok, not EVERYTHING but teachers label a lot. Over my 11 years of teaching, I have seen so many ways to label. From taking a picture of the item, name badges (you know those cute ones from the teacher store that are suppose to be used for names but we use them for so much more), using a graphic, plain index cards, paint sticks, stickers, allll sorts of ways. To me, there is not a right way…just find a way that works for you. If you set up your labels at the beginning of the year then you can follow that quote “A place for everything and everything in its’ place.” The kids get use to it and one of your systems is in place. And if you teach older kids, get them involved, it is ok (to me atleast) to take the week to set up your classroom with the kids. It really gives them ownership and feel like a contributor. So, I’ve always labeled my journals with them. But I’ve always taught 2nd or 3rd grade. So, of course, these kids can handle that. Regardless, here are some free labels for your math journals. (Do you use math journals?)
Have a wonderful week! Just click on the picture or you can click HERE. Oh and there are three different styles to choose from! Stay tuned next Monday for some labels already done for you 🙂
And I’m joining Classroom Freebies Maniac Monday. Tons of free items…always!!
